North Idaho CASA is pleased to  receive a grant from the Women's Gift Alliance Members Fund in the Idaho Community Foundation of $500. The grant was provided on behalf of Pam Ness and Mary Jo Shaw in support of CASA operations.  This gift will go towards CASA's advocating for North Idaho children removed from the home due to violence, abuse or neglect. To date this year, CASA has served 303 children.  CASA has over 100 volunteer advocates that serve these children in the following ways:
  • investigate, monitor and report the circumstances surrounding the child protection case
  • ensure that this child is in a safe home during their case
  • personally visit with this child at least once a month
  • advocate for this child's best interests in court
  • serve as their voice in court
  • provide supplies and comforts (through our CASA Store) such as clothing, coats, shoes, diapers, educational supplies, blankets, books, and toys
  • advocate for medical, dental and mental health care needs and monitor progress
  • advocate for educational assistance (tutoring or Individualized Education plan) and monitor progress
  • provide birthday and Christmas gifts
  • assist in finding this child a safe, nurturing and permanent home
  • help this child to feel worthy and cared for
